New to tabletop RPGs? Here's how they work. In pen-and-paper Roleplaying games (RPGs for short) a group of people sit around a table to play a game and tell a story at the same time. One player, the Game Master, “runs” the game, preparing a scenario which is like an open-ended story. The other participants play the main characters in the story, trying to solve the puzzles, defeat the opponents, and overcome the obstacles that the GM has prepared for them. Dice are sometimes rolled to see if the actions of the characters are successful. Metal or plastic figurines (miniatures) and other props are used to keep track of the relative positions of characters during action scenes.
This is not a computer or online game. This is a book that you read to learn some simple and fast rules that you use during pen-and-paper roleplaying sessions, sitting around a table with your friends. You'll need pens, paper, and at least three six sided dice per player in addition to this ebook.

Excellent set of rules
What a terrific set of straight-forward rules and play. Highly recommended for anyone interested in a quick battle with family and friends. The rules are simple enough to learn and complicated enough to be engaging.
